and none of the standard bike parts swapping tricks will work. This is comparable to trying to use EL parts on a late model Dyna Harley. The frames are different, the tank bases are different, blah blah blah blah blah.
The parts guy was right about using junkyard parts to find what fits, just don't plan on running a junkyard tank without having it boiled out, patched, and lined, no matter how good it looks. Junkyard bikes are there for a reason.
